Mangottu Kavu Temple, Athipotta
It is dedicated to Goddess Mangottu Bhagavathi, a fierce form of the Divine Mother and considered the younger sister of Parakkattu Bhagavathi. Architecture of the Temple The temple is built in traditional Kerala style, characterized by gabled roofs and woodwork. The main deity is Mangottu Bhagavathi (Bhadrakali). There is a sub-shrine for Lord Ganapathy in the south-west corner (referred to as Kanni Moola) and another for Mookken Chathen, a guardian spirit, on the northern side. The temple complex includes a Kalyana Mandapam (marriage hall) and lodging facilities managed by the Malabar Devaswom Board, with hereditary trusteeship held by Poomully Mana.
