Loving His Uncertainty

Loving His Uncertainty Can uncertainty become an impediment in one’s spiritual life? Bhagawan’s oft-repeated axiom, Love My Uncertainty, should come in the practical front in the life of an earnest seeker, seeking Him in his/her pursuit for liberation. Dr (Ms) Radha Hanumai Garuda once had to take such a plunge to dash to Bhagawan’s Presence from the US, leaving her family, leaving the country without a return ticket, post receiving an inner call negating all uncertainties…extracted from her recently published book, Sri Sathya Sai – The Inner Divine.  I enjoyed the company of the westerners as I said earlier. They didn’t care for Swami’s materializations but only on His teachings. That was my inclination also. I read Swami saying that nobody came to Him for liberation. The whole world only sought tinsel and trash from Him. When I read that, I decided that I would not be like that. I would seek only liberation from Him. “I will test you if you are real with your words. I would like to see if you stand by what you said because I shall seek only liberation from you. This is My challenge to you.” There were some other interesting experiences with Swami that I recollect as well. Rao used to be away on trips and many times I had to drive late in the night downtown to pick him up from the airport. I used to get very scared as I was alone. I could actually hear Swami telling me that He was with me and would accompany me to the airport. He would be beside me the entire journey and then, on reaching the airport, would say, “Okay! Now you have reached safely. Rao will be coming. I will leave and he can sit in the passenger seat.” Swami was there always guiding and helping me. When He says that He is above, below, around and within us, it is absolutely true. It was sometime towards the end of October in 1989. When I was sleeping, I was woken up at 3 am. To my great astonishment, I saw it was Swami Himself standing beside my bed! Swami in flesh and blood! My Swami was standing beside me! However, I remember that my eyes were still closed. I was seeing Him in my mind’s eye. May be this is the third eye that spiritual masters and practitioners speak about. Swami looked at me and said, “Now you are ready. Now you can come.” I opened my eyes and though the words were ringing in my ears, I was not able to see anyone. I was naturally not able to sleep after that. I was overwhelmed. Till now, I had been guided to books and lectures. I had been equipped and strengthened so far and the time had come for me to make preparations to go to Swami in the true sense. I resigned from the hospital and decided to take only a oneway ticket to Him. “I am coming for liberation, Swami. If you say that is what I want you to give.” Rao did not know how to handle this. I assured him that it was Baba’s calling. “You are crazy! You are leaving all of us here and running away to Baba.” “Will you help me or should I seek help elsewhere?” I asked. Finally, Rao acceded to my wishes and said that he would book a one-way ticket. The travel agent who helped us also shared an interesting story. He was a Sindhi gentleman who did not know much about Baba. But he had once travelled with a staunch Sai devotee on a flight to California. That man shared a lot about Baba and that  convinced the travel agent that once the call has come, Baba would ensure that the person reaches His Feet. It was the 10th of November and I did not know that this was just the beginning. I was nervous because I had never travelled like this before. I did not know where I would be staying, what I would be doing or how I would manage the several flight changes. I had always travelled with Rao and the children before that. But I had a strong longing for Swami and I could not bear the separation from Him. I wasn’t able to bear the delay any further. I prayed for an indication and a blessing. Now when I look back, I realise that uncertainty should never stop us from following our heart. I began to spend more time with my Swami than my parents or in-laws despite several physical hardships of an ashram life. There were times when I have slept on the floor on a simple mat with a bathroom possessing nothing more than a bucket and a mug.

He Belongs To All

He Belongs To All How often do we judge Him, judging the actions of the attribute-less Supra-Supreme Divine Persona walking on two Feet, out of sheer, crass ignorance?!? For a devout soul ripe enough for learning, He sends the right message across, often in His own inimitable style, only to help the devotee evolve slow and steady, grade by grade, to a higher level of consciousness. Read on such a revealing experience from the diary of Sri Arun Kumar Panda of Odisha, as chronicled in his book Rasamayee Maa. (edited version)I don’t precisely recall the month, but the year was 1971. I had travelled from Delhi for Swami’s Darshan and would be returning there. I was sitting in the portico of the Mandir at about 2 pm alone on the day of my return journey. I don’t precisely recall the month, but the year was 1971. I had travelled from Delhi for Swami’s Darshan and would be returning there. I was sitting in the portico of the Mandir at about 2 pm alone on the day of my return journey. My train was at 9 pm. The Sai Kulwant hall had not come into being, and there was sand all around. There was only one entrance to the Mandir from the East Prasanthi side. There was no restriction then relating to sitting outside the bhajan hall. A big red car then entered through the gate. I thought to myself – ‘Bhagawan, You Are for the rich only; no one bothers about us.’ Two or three people lifted a young girl from the car and seated her on the ground. She was a beautiful girl affected by polio. I immediately prayed, ‘Lord, I need no car or polio.’ the gentlemen carried her near to where I was sitting ans Swami blessed her from the porch above and dropped an envelope filled with Vibhuti on their hands. A flash thought came to me, again. ‘Swami, You will give Vibhuti to such people only.’ Those people went away after receiving Vibhuti, but I continued sitting there. Most unexpected, one Sevadal brother came and extended a packet of Vibhuti similar to that given to the girl saying that Swami had sent it for me. I prostrated Swami right there and begged forgiveness for my crass ignorance. The biggest lesson that I learnt from this incident is that He belongs to all. No one should have any doubt about that.

Who is Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba – Incomprehensible Divinity

Who is Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba – Incomprehensible Divinity His was the advent that was a silver lining, glittering in golden! Two decades before independence, when the country was suppressed and was clamouring for freedom from the British, in a remote village in Andhra Pradesh was born a little boy by name Sathya Narayana Raju. His birth was no less significant, but in line with the promise of the famous Gita verse, “Parithranaya Sadhuunam…”!  Sathya Narayana Raju’s birth was the fulfilment of the word of Bhagawan Sri Krishna over 5230 years ago, given to Arjuna.  His Story may sound utopian, but it is verily the True Story. He came, beyond any doubt, at the most significant of times, when the world was in disarray and needed a healing touch. He came to be known as Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and with this began the all-conquering, incredible Sai Sojourn!  Human destiny was scribbling out its unique history, erasing the void and filling in with the vivid. Basking in His glory of selfless love, the wise recognized Him to be the personification of Divinity. He came to walk on the earth this time neither with a bow and arrows, nor a flute and discus; neither as a powerful prince of prowess and statesmanship nor as a kingmaker, but much more than that, since, the battles to be fought and won are on the intellectual plane. Physical prowess and conventional warfare had to take a backseat this time. Their place has been taken by penetrating powerful words of wisdom and disarming Pure Love, the splendour and majesty remaining the same as a rule.  The assurance given more than five thousand years ago at the beginning of the Kali Age thus became a fulfilment on the 23rd of November 1926 when the present Avatar Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba was born at Puttaparthi, an insignificant, underdeveloped and remote village in the Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. He says: “Yes, I am God and so are you.  The only difference between you and I is that while I am aware of this fact, you are not.” And this is no casual remark. Indeed, inherent in this small, but extremely significant statement is the fundamental truth of humanity’s divine nature – its true reality; and revivifying the heart of every human being to this salient truth is the mission and message of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Very aptly, Baba begins His every discourse, addressing the gathering as, “Embodiments of the Divine Atma”. All who listen to Him, experience His unconditional love, benefit from His caring counsel and witness His supernormal supremacy over mind and matter, which give a real glimpse of the glory and majesty of God, and therefore, of the infinity that each human potentially and inherently is. Crime has overtaken compassion, anger has replaced adoration, greed has swallowed gratitude, and selfishness has drowned selflessness and sacrifice… Like His previous avatars, this time also He chose His father and mother for His earthly career.  The choice fell on Pedda Venkama Raju of the Ratnakaram family and Mother Easwaramma, whose lives were sanctified and glorified for posterity to remember.  Motherhood  received a greater measure of respect and honour, which was probably its due.  What He could not (or did not?) do for Mother Kausalya in the Thretha yuga, He fulfilled in the Dwapara yuga, and what still remained, in Kali Yuga.  If Mother Kausalya had to suffer pain and agony at the separation of Rama while He was in exile, it was amply compensated when Mother Devaki and Father Vasudeva were emancipated from the clutches of his uncle, the devilish Kamsa.  He also gave joy and grace to Mother Yashoda by making her His foster mother.  So, the fortune of one was divided for the two as both – chosen by Him only – deserved that grace.  Yet, He was not satisfied in rewarding them.  Perhaps He chose two more this time – Mother Easwaramma as His Devaki and Mother Subbamma as His Yashoda.  How fortunate these mothers are!  Their names are inked in golden letters in human history. The baffling experiences and the mind-boggling miracles that followed and the unlimited glory that brought even the toughest and the greatest to the fore, to kneel before Him and seek His blessings, convinced even His adamant elder brother Sheshama Raju, the Telugu Pundit of Kamalapuram School, with whom He lived for a few years, though the elder brother wished to educate Him to become a Government servant. As a child He was not only precocious, but demonstrated exemplary divine qualities of compassion, forbearance, generosity and wisdom which distinguished Him from all children of His age in the village.  The Divine child was recognized only by the centurian grandfather Kondama Raju, who discovered much to his joy and wonder, that the Lord had only fulfilled his prayers as foretold by the celebrated Venkavadhoota (a realized soul – an anchorite of wisdom) of his family whom the former revered like a guardian angel.  The boy Sathyanarayana Raju was miraculous even as a child.  He would take out peppermints and sweets from nowhere for His classmates who looked at Him with awe, wonder and adoration.  They conferred on Him the title ‘Guru’ as His wisdom was sufficient to command respect from even His teachers.  Then came the enunciation on the 20th of October 1940, at the age of 14, that He, as the reincarnation in the form of Sai Baba, had to respond to the call of His devotees for whom He had come and was, therefore, no more the ‘Sathya’ of His family members.  This startling revelation marked the beginning of His avataric mission.  Crossing over to the garden of Shri Anjaneyulu, the next door neighbour of His elder brother, He sat on a stone block to teach those who had collected around Him and to the whole universe the first prayer: “Manasa bhajare Gurucharanam Dustara bhava sagara tharanam” (Meditate in thy mind on the feet of the Guru; that can take you across

A Miraculous Cure:Heart Surgery Cancelled

A Miraculous Cure:Heart Surgery Cancelled Sathya Saibaba, the Master of miracles cancels an ardent devotee’s heart surgery. An old lady from Madras once had a sharp pain in her chest. Her husband rushed to their family doctor, who in turn referred them to a heart surgeon. The lady was put to a through test. To the shock of her husband and her, the doctor revealed that there appeared three blockages in her heart. The doctor also suggested that an immediate heart operation has to be done. The lady however refused to undergo the operation without the consent of the Lord of her heart, Sri Sathya Sai Baba. She also ignored the medicines prescribed for the pain. The Lord is the only succor for a lost heart. That night, the lady had a wonderous dream where Sathya Saibaba took a piece of paper, drew a heart and crossed it. The lady woke up with tears of ecstasy, “Baba I know not the significance of the dream, but I am aware that my heart problem has been taken care of!” A miraculous cure just came about naturally! Can there be a dearth of miracles by Sathya Sai Baba in the devotees’ lives? The next day, the elderly couple visited the doctor again and the lady went through the same tests, a second time. To the utter astonishment of everyone, the results simply did not show any trait of a heart ailment. The blocks were absent and hence the heart surgery was ruled out! The husband related to the doctor, the wonderful dream that his wife had the previous night. He however wanted to make sure about the medicines that she had to take for her heart condition to be stable. When the prescription was produced, the doctor just crossed it exactly the way Satya Sai Baba had done in the dream! Surging gratitude from the heart flowed down as tears on the cheeks of the devotee! A miraculous cure just came about naturally! Can there be a dearth of miracles by Sathya Sai Baba in the devotees’ lives?

Display of Destiny – On His Palm They Saw

Display of Destiny – On His Palm They Saw A certain person was a captain during the Second World War, but since he died of a commonplace disease in a civil hospital, his widow did not get much by way of pension. So she had to earn some money teaching music, in order to keep her three children – two daughters and a son – in elementary ease. The son passed his B.Sc. examination with a first class from the Madras University, while still in his teens. The army authorities gave him a job in their cantonment office at Bangalore. His mother, who was overwhelmed with joy, sent him to offer homage to the family deity, Venkatachalapthi, in the temple on the Thirumalai Hills in Andhra Pradesh, so that he could join duty at Bangalore with divine blessings. However, what did happen was that the boy got drowned in the holy tank of the temple. His body was in police custody for two days as it was unidentified. The anxious mother was confronted by the photograph of her son’s corpse which appeared in the daily papers. But, Baba appeared to her in a dream and directed her to come to Puttaparthi. There she was taken by a mysterious stranger to the Presence. Bhagavan called her and her children for the precious interview. “Don’t weep,” He said, “for your son who led a disciplined life and was full of devotion, has now merged with God. When he has found the lotus feet of Bliss, you should not indulge in grief.” But she could not be consoled. Then Baba said, “I know your heart is broken since you could not have even a last glimpse of his body. See, it is here.” Saying this, He spread His palm in front of her, and she could clearly see the events of that fateful pilgrimage appear upon it: The son slipped on the steps of the tank, and a few people jumped in to save him. It was too late. Even first-aid could not revive him. A lotus-like bunch of flames rose from his body and proceeded towards the innermost shrine where the idol of Venkatachalapathi is installed, disappearing in a blaze of glory at the Lord’s feet. Then she saw the idol come alive and change into a charming image of Baba Himself. After some time Baba spoke to her, “Mother, the one you loved as your son was a staunch devotee of the Lord during his previous life. He was engaged in Tapas for twelve years on the steps of this very holy temple tank. His deepest desire was to attain Jala Samadhi (Water-mergence) in those sacred waters. To fulfil that desire he took birth again and, as your guru, has led you to Me. Remain in Puttaparthi, ever singing the glory of Venkatachalapathi, who has accepted your son into His fold.”

Oh! I am a Chowkidar (watchman)

Oh! I am a Chowkidar (watchman) On another occasion group captain Bose, driving with his wife and father-in-law from Ambala to Gauhati in a high powered car with low clearance was unable to move on the slushy road near Hariharganj. The entire area was dangerously flooded by serpentine heavy rains; the road was a lake. The back wheels of the car sank completely into the mud, while up front, one wheel was stuck in a ditch! At that late hour of 11.30 p.m. no help was available, nor would it have been of much avail since all efforts to free her only succeeded in making her sink deeper. The occupants were able to procure shelter in a nearby school, and slept on bare benches at night. Mrs. Bose felt that Baba had spared them a long and hazardous journey, driving through the night, but her husband was determined to reach Gauhati where he had to preside over a Court Martial. “Duty is God. Work is Worship,” he quoted Baba. When dawn broke, no passing car or truck would agree to help, nor would the small crowd of amused villagers lift a finger! Their enjoyment of the pitiable spectacle only fanned the flames of despair. Unfortunately Mr. Bose had a little bit of ego left in him; he decided to rely on horse power rather than Sai Power! Ropes were procured, but the car would not move; the engine was restarted, but she only sank further into the slush. Eventually, an exhausted Bose flopped to the ground, saying, “The Lotus Feet of Baba is our only refuge.” Almost immediately a gentle looking man with a strong physique came towards them. No one seemed to recognize him, nor could they guess his whereabouts. Handing his umbrella to Mrs. Bose, he became master of the situation. Bose was asked to get into the car and take the wheel – a sweet fragrance flooded the interior, but before the engine could be switched on, or the gaping crowd could offer assistance, Mrs. Bose saw the man ‘put his right hand under the bumper, and with one lift, he placed the car forward upon hard ground, all wheels safe out of the awful mire.’ Then all the occupants were requested to get into the car! Puzzled, they tried to thank him and to ask who, and what he was, “Oh, I am a Chowkidar (watchman),” he said, and walked away. Disengaging itself from the now vociferous crowd, the car moved away, and soon caught up with the man, walking briskly down the road. Bose begged the man to accept something but he refused. Then He spoke one sentence, “Why did you not call for me last night itself?” The Lotus Feet had indeed come to them!

Sai Saga

Sai Saga 1. Incarnation, 1926-1940 This is the Story of the Lord come in human form, incarnated at a quite little village, Puttaparthi, in 1926. Born to a quiet, pious and contented couple, Sri Pedda Venkama Raju and Mother Easwaramma, and christened Sathyanarayana Raju. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is now worshipped as ‘God Incarnate’ and adored as ‘Loving Divinity’ by millions across the globe. Signs of The DescentMysterious indications of the impending incarnation occurred in Pedda Venkama’s house. For example, there was the twang of the tambura! Since the brothers and the father were all interested in the village operas, there was a substantially big tambura and a Maddala or drum. As the birth of the Son for whom Mother Easwaramma prayed, announced itself as imminent, the house was awakened at midnight, and sometimes even later, by the tambura twanging automatically, and the maddala beating rhythmically as if an expert Hand was handling it! One Sastri, whom Pedda Venkama Raju approached for an explanation, said that it was an auspicious occurrence: it meant the presence of a Shakthi, a beneficent Power, conferring Harmony, Melody, Order, Symmetry, Spiritual Elevation and Joy. The Sun rises above the horizon! On the 23rd day of November 1926, the son was born. It was the time of sunrise; and, the villagers were chanting the names of Shiva, remembering that the day was still Karthika Somavara, a Monday of the Holy Month of Karthika, devoted to the puja and worship of Shiva. That day was made even more auspicious for Shiva worship, because the ascendant star was Ardra and on such rare occasions when the month, the day and the star coincide, special pujas are performed in the temples of the Lord. The year was Akshaya, the Never-declining, the Ever-full. The Mother had also just finished, in some hurry of course, her Sathya Narayana Puja in accordance with her vows, for, even while she was going through the final rituals, the pangs forewarned her. When Easwaramma announced the pangs, word was sent to the mother-in-law, Lakshamma, the pious lady of the house; but, it became known that she had gone to the house of the priest to perform the Puja of Sathya Narayana; the messenger discovered her there and urged her to return; but she was so confident of the Grace of Sathya Narayana, so steadfast in her devotion, so disciplined in her religious adherence, that she refused to be hustled! She sent word that she will bring with her to Easwaramma the sacred offerings after the Puja and that, on no account would she interrupt her prayers! She finished the entire ritual with full concentration, came home, gave her daughter-in-law the flowers and the sacred water Easwaramma partook of the blessings of the Lord. Next moment, the Lord was born; And the Sun rose above the horizon! Sathyanarayana Raju Indeed the village, which bears the name, Ant-hill Prosperity, gave the child an appropriate welcome! A snake was there lying in the room! The women did not notice it for long; but, when the baby, laid on a bed of clothes, was being moved up and down in a peculiar way by something underneath, they watched with bated breath and when at last they searched, they found a cobra below the bed! The snake was acting the role of Sesha to the Seshasai! The baby was charming beyond description, and, no wonder! For, it had even in the cradle all the Yogic Siddhis, which Pathanjali says come along with birth itself. Baba has declared that He knew even prior to His Birth where He would be born; He has said that he was born with all the miraculous powers, which He is later out of His own will, manifesting one by one, as and when He feels each could be so announced. It must therefore follow that the baby had a halo of splendour around its head, that its smile had an other-worldly beauty and a heavenly power to captivate the heart. The baby was named Sathyanarayana, since the relationship between the puja to that God and the realisation of her cherished desire seemed to the Mother to be very important. When the Namakaranam (Naming Ceremony) was performed and the name was whispered in the ear; it seems the baby smiled, for the suggestion to give that name must have emanated unobtrusively from Itself! How else can we explain the fact that the first requisite for spiritual advancement, now propounded by Baba, is Sathya itself? The embodiment and exponent of Truth could not give Himself a more appropriate name. Raju – “The Brahmin Child” The Divine child became the pet of the entire village of Puttaparthi and the ryots and cowherds vied with each other in fondling it and feeding it and playing with its lovely silken curls. Its charming smile attracted every one. The fragrance of the jasmine bud filled the air. Like a lighted lamp, Sathya moved about the house and laughter tinkled in the street when he lisped his sweet vocabulary of sounds. He kept away from places where pigs or sheep or cattle or fowl were killed or tortured, or where fish was trapped or caught; he avoided kitchens and vessels used for cooking flesh or fowl. When a bird was selected and talked about by someone in connection with dinner, Sathyanarayana the little boy, would run towards it and clasp it to His bosom and fondle it as if the extra love He poured on it would induce the elders to relent and spare the fowl. He was called by the neighbours, “Brahmajnani” on account of this type of aversion and this measure of Love towards creation. At such times, the boy used to run to the Karnam’s house for they were Brahmins and vegetarians, and take the food offered by Subbamma, the aged lady residing there. So distinct was his behaviour that a wag once nicknamed him “the Brahmin child”! Yes, it was a fitting description. Little did

Who is Sai?

Who is Sai? 19 June 1974Sri Sathya Sai Baba(From Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol. IX, pp. 88–92) Editor’s Note In this discourse, Swami speaks about the nature of God, the religion of Love, and His Avatharhood. He explains why He materializes rings and sacred objects, the inner meaning behind these acts, and the profound significance of the name Sai Baba. God is inscrutable. He cannot be realized in the outer, objective world; He resides in the very heart of every being. Precious gemstones are found deep beneath the earth; they do not float in mid-air. In the same way, seek God in the depths of your own Self—not in the dazzling, ever-changing panorama of nature. The body has been granted to you for this supreme purpose. Yet, you misuse it—like the person who cooked his daily food in a gem-studded golden vessel that came to him as a sacred heirloom. Man praises God as omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent, yet ignores His presence within himself. Many attempt to define God and describe His attributes, but these descriptions are only guesses—reflections of personal preferences and limitations. Who can declare that God is only this, or deny that He is that? From the vast ocean, each person can collect only as much water as his vessel can hold. From that limited measure, how can one comprehend the immeasurable? Each religion defines God within its own boundaries and then claims complete understanding. Like the seven blind men describing an elephant as a pillar, a fan, a rope, or a wall—based on the part they touched—religions describe fragments and assert total vision. They forget that God is all forms and all names, all attributes and all assertions. The true religion of humanity is the essence of all religions—and that religion is Love. Just as all parts of the elephant are sustained by a single stream of blood, all religions are sustained by one stream of Love. The outer eye cannot perceive Truth; it often distorts reality. Many observe my actions and hastily conclude that my nature is such and such. They fail to grasp the sanctity, majesty, and eternal reality that I am. The power of Sai is limitless. It manifests eternally. All forms of power reside in this Sai palm. Yet scholars, yogis, pundits, and jnanis who claim to understand me are aware only of the most superficial manifestation of an infinitesimal part of that power—what they call “miracles.” They do not seek the source of all power and wisdom, which is available here. They parade their scholarship and Vedic learning, unaware that the One from whom the Vedas emerged is present before them, for their sake. This has been the tragedy in every age. People may live physically close to the Avathar and yet remain ignorant of their good fortune. They exaggerate miracles, which are as insignificant compared to my glory as a mosquito is compared to the elephant it rests upon. When people speak endlessly of miracles, I smile inwardly, saddened that they lose awareness of my true Reality. My power is immeasurable; my truth is unfathomable. I declare this now because the need has arisen. Yet what I reveal is only a visiting card of my Reality. Among Avathars, only Krishna declared his divinity openly and unmistakably. Even then, in his life, there appeared to be defeats—but those too were part of the divine drama he himself designed. When Krishna said his peace mission to the Kauravas had failed, it was because he willed that war should occur—to expose greed and injustice before the world. In this Sai Avathar, however, there is no place for such apparent defeat. What I will must happen. What I plan must succeed. I am Truth, and Truth does not hesitate or bend. For me, even “willing” is unnecessary. My grace flows naturally to those who have steady love and faith. Because I move freely among you—talking, singing, laughing—many fail to grasp my divinity, power, and mission. Only those who recognize my Love and experience it can claim to have glimpsed my Reality. Love is the royal road that leads to me. Do not attempt to know me through external vision. When you stand before God in a temple, you close your eyes—why? Because you know that only the inner eye of wisdom can reveal Him. Do not crave trivial material objects from me. Crave for me, and you shall receive everything. Accept with gratitude whatever I give as a sign of my grace—but know its deeper meaning. I give rings, talismans, and rosaries to signify the bond between me and the devotee. When calamity befalls them, the object reaches me instantly and returns instantly, carrying my protective grace. But this grace is not limited to those who wear these gifts. Love alone is the bond that wins grace. Consider the meaning of the name Sai Baba.Sa means Divine.Ai or Ayi means Mother.Baba means Father. Thus, Sai Baba represents the Divine Mother and Divine Father, just like the name Sambasiva. Earthly parents love with some degree of selfishness; but this Sai Mother and Father guide, correct, and bless solely to lead you toward victory in self-realization. This Sai has come to unite all humanity as one family, bound by brotherhood; to illumine the Atmic Reality within each being; to reveal the Divine foundation upon which the cosmos rests; and to help man shed his animal nature and rise into his true Divine destiny. I am the embodiment of Divine Love. Love is my instrument. There is no being without love—even the lowest loves itself. And that Self is God. Therefore, there are no atheists in truth—only those temporarily afflicted. Just as a sick person dislikes sweets, those who reject God do so due to spiritual illness. When the illness is cured, they too will relish and revere God. I have spoken of my Truth so that you may contemplate it, draw joy from it, and be inspired to follow the disciplines I prescribe—progressing steadily toward self-realization,

The Message I Bring

The Message I Bring The Message I Bring This has been called the “milestone” discourse. However, it is believed to be not a real discourse by Sathya Sai Baba but a series of sentences crafted from previous discourses by N. Kasturi. This speech does not appear in the Sathya Sai Speaks series, and no old-timer at Prasanthi NIlaym remembers it.This article indicates where each sentence came from. This video was developed by the late Richard Bock in 1968-69. Kasturi reads this “discourse” while we see darshan scenes. The speech also appeared on a long-playing (33RPM) record and appears in Sam Sandweiss’s book The Holy Man and The Psychiatrist.
