Dab Prabatiya Temple, Tezpur
A later Ahom-period Shiva temple once stood above it, though today only the richly carved stone doorframe and foundational ruins remain. Architecture of the Temple Gupta Design Layout: Excavations uncovered the base of the sanctum (garbhagriha), a circumambulatory path (pradakshina), a colonnaded mandapa, and a front hall (mukhamandapa). A stone altar (kunda) was also found at the site. Artistic Highlights: The door jambs feature carved divine figures and decorative bands—lotus forms, rosettes, mythical beings—while the lintel bears carvings of deities like Lakulisa, Surya, and others, all marked by Gupta-style sophistication.
