A Song from Beyond the Seven Seas

A Song from Beyond the Seven Seas You are in my heart, as I am in your heart,We are just one heartCalled Soham, called Love.Sai, you are in my heart, as I am in your heartThere is only one heartEternally Love. You are the Ocean, I am your wave,You are the Mountain, I am the cave,You are the blue sky, I am your starSai, You are my Lover,Wherever you are. You are the flower, I am the bee,You are the brown earth, I am your tree,You are the father, I am your son,Sai, OmnipresenceFrom you, I have come. You are the green tree, I’m your clinging wine,You are the poet, I am your rhyme,You are the raindrops, I’m your flower wild,Sai, Divine MotherI am your loving child. You are the full moon, I am your beam,You are the dreamer, I am your dream,You are the year, I am your day, You are the river, I am your flow,You are the director, I am your show,You are the wild wind, I am your cryYou’re Durga Mata, Your tiger am I. You are in my heart, as I am in your heart,Sai, We are one heart,Called Soham, called Love. ~Sung: Lite Storm, CaliforniaSource: Sai Sarathi, Sept. 1973

The Game is Yours

The Game is Yours You tell me—Follow the master,But the Master is the Monkey‑mind! You urge: Face the devil,Six devils stare at me!And Fight to the end, You Insist,I am already at my wit’s end!Finish the game, You demand,Lord, I am not the player, but played upon! Then, wait no more; my King,Take up arms, and occupy This land; And to this famished soulLet Thy Panchajanya Sing. The monkey shall go,The devils will flee,The fight shall be done,And the game is, as always,Yours, and yours, and yours. —B. The Supreme Benediction

The Supreme Benediction We waited, hushed and expectant,Our eyes rivetted on the portico beyond the gates. The trees spread shadeOn a thousand yearning hearts. We knew our Lord was here,Within those walls, so nearAnd yet so far. Suddenly Baba is before usTime stands still; He comes nearer.Infinite compassion rains from His eyesInfinite love pours from His smile…We drown blissfully in this flood of Grace.Breathless we gaze, adoreAnd quench our thirstFor the Supreme BenedictionOf Baba’s darshan. Fellow-pilgrim! Even as you gaze at HimAnd His timeless face, under the mop of hairWith its awesome majesty of a thundercloud……Realize that you are face-to-faceWith the Formless One, the Eternal One,The One without Attributes, who has now takenA Form and a Name, to re-establish dharmaAnd dissolve the giant agony of man. Realize again when you touch His FeetThat your fingers hold for a fleeting secondThe Ultimate Sanctuary sought by sages and saintsThe Abode of all atmas [soul], the Seat of muktiAnd the manifest Portals of moksha [liberation].Recognize, therefore, in your yearning for His FeetYour soul’s homesickness. Darshan is over; we begin to disperse. The trees spread shade nowOn a thousand brimming hearts.A hum of talk rises with the dust.Hush! Let us ponder over this Vision of Glory……Do we deserve so much?O Bhagavan! O Sri Parthi Nilaya! O Sai Guru!Help us become worthy of your Grace. ~D. NarenderSource: Sanathana Sarathi, Sept. 1965

He is Ours

He is Ours “Is he real?” I wondered.“Or is he a farce?”“Is he another—trying tousurp the place of JesusIn men’s hearts?” “Shall I go, God?Shall I go?”I prayed.“I hope he’s for realbut I’m afraid!” The years passed—and then, one day, it came.“Go”.Even then, I really did not know! The day I was to see him—No sense of delight.I wentBut wasn’t preparedfor his sight, A flood inside brokeand tears gushed—“He Is the CHRIST!”To Him my heart rushed. He is ours—and, we are His.Thank God—that is who SAIBABA IS! ~June SchuylerSource: Sanathana Sarathi, Oct. 1970

Baba, Thy Will be done

Baba, Thy Will be done Down here as in Heaven. We are Thy tools of service; We are units of sacrifice…. Baba, Thy Will be done;We are parts of One great OneEach must work in his place,Without trying to run a race. Baba, Thy Will be done:We are one family under the sun; Each member must do his dutyAssigned to him, in tranquility. ~K. Vaidyanathan O Baba, Bhagavan, Bestow Thy GraceUnto all the Universe, till the end of time!Make me humble, save me, teach me,Never to forget Thy Name, let It courseIn all my veins, while waking, sleepingI take refuge in Thee, My Breath, My LifeMy All, Almighty God, the All-in-all!  ~G. OH, SWEET MOTHER

OH, SWEET MOTHER Oh, Sweet mother.Every day I see you smiling at me, the apple of your eyesFrom baby, till now. Every day she combs my hairTill it is soft and silky. Every day she cooks my favorite foods.Fresh homemade breakfast, lunch, and dinner Every day no matter how busy she is with her job or even when she is sick. She always keeps the house shining and comfortable for me. Every day she anxiously waits for me to come home from school by the door. Her eyes are shining in the sun, and even when it is rainy I can feel thatwarmth from her lustrous eyes. When her shimmering shiny gaze falls upon meI feel so happy and loved inside and out. Oh! What can I ever do in return for you? Oh! Sweet mother,You give everything to me so selflessly! Your love knows no boundaries. Oh! Sweet mother, I love you with all my heart and soul.Oh, Sweet mother. I CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY! I do not want to live in the darkI want to live in the light of stars.I choose to be happy! Once, I went to a Thanksgiving party. There I touched a turkey balloon bigger than my body.In a minute it popped, and I sobbed. The lady looked at me with a smile andSaid it happens occasionally. She said she chooses to be happy. Then one day I was making sand art,Everyone said I was smart.A boy came from nowhere and ran over my art everywhere.I felt disheartened but my mind sparkled.I remembered the kind and wise words of the lady.I choose to be happy. And be steady.I understood that things will not always be perfect. However, I could always choose to be happy. ~Hridik Sehgal,Online SSE Group 2
