Divine Words of wisdom by Sathya Sai Baba – On Sacrifice

Divine Words of wisdom by Sathya Sai Baba – On Sacrifice 1. What is sacrifice in its true sense Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-20 Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description This body is mortal. Sacrifice means not to leave this body or wife and family. The evil qualities that cover us like hatred and jealousy are to be sacrificed. These are covering our human nature. If that cover is removed we get the Bliss. A layer that covers the lens of the eye is to be removed to get the correct vision. Likewise, the cover of attachment, hatred and jealousy are to be removed. That is the real sacrifice. Sacrifice does not mean giving away your material properties. You should sacrifice all your bad qualities. Then our real self comes out. It is your duty to do that. 2. Sacrifice is the hallmark of human life Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-07-31 Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description What is meant by ‘Tarakam’? It is ‘Khechari’, ‘Vechari’, ‘Madhyama’ and the true essence ‘Bhagawati’. One must try to analyse the essence of these four aspects. What is the meaning of ‘Tarakam’? Many people have described it in many ways. There are five signs in this. One should know clearly the five signs, ‘Pancha Mudras’. One should know these five signs, research and investigate them properly, experience them, then determine the necessary and the unnecessary and brush aside the unnecessary; have a vision of Nadabindu and realise the ‘hamsatwa’, later on experience the state of sath-chit-ananda on earth—this sums up ‘Tarakam’. Immersing and concentrating the human mind in the principle of sath-chit-ananda, the ultimate bliss is called as ‘Tarakam’.   4. As is your feeling so is your vision

Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Sacrifice

Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Sacrifice 1.- Sacrifice of Emperor Bali Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Onam ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 2001-08-31   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Emperor Bali was the personification of charity. He sacrificed everything during yagnas (sacrificial offerings). To uphold the principle of truth, he was prepared to sacrifice everything. Vamana came forward and asked for 3 feet of land. Bali, without a second thought, promised that he will give. Preceptor Sukracharya objected. ‘Emperor Bali, this is no ordinary boy. He is highly powerful. The very embodiment of Vishnu is here. If you promise him anything, you cannot go back. It is better that you don’t promise him anything at all’. Then Emperor Bali said, ‘Can there be a greater sin than going back on a word once given?’ He disobeyed the command of his guru, and gave his promise to Vamana. Bali strived to uphold truth. God granted him all happiness and pleasure and sent him to Pathala. Pathala means that you will never be born again, birth-less. And Emperor Bali begged Vishnu to grant him a wish. ‘Just as you conversed with me today, just as you entered Kerala now, every year you should visit this Kerala and take care of all the people of Kerala’ – that was his request. People of Kerala celebrate this festival of Onam which signifies the visit of Vamana to this planet Earth. Bali was highly virtuous, highly meritorious, though born in a demonic family he had all the noble qualities. Because of the meritorious deeds of Emperor Bali, the people of Kerala are blessed with this opportunity of celebrating Onam.    Listen To Full Discourse Happiness is union with God Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Onam ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 2001-08-31 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description WHAT happiness did the demon Somakasura attain by stealing the Vedas and hurling abuses at God? What was the fate of the ten-headed Ravana who abducted the consort of Rama? What did Duryodhana, who refused to give the Pandavas even as much land as would a needlepoint occupy, take with him at the end? What happened to the wicked Kamsa ultimately who indulged in the gruesome act of slaying infants? The same will be the fate of the wicked today. If not today, at least tomorrow, they are bound to meet their doom. Oh man! Do not entertain excessive desires. Better that you lead a life of moderation.     Happiness is union with God Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Onam ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 2001-08-31 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description WHAT happiness did the demon Somakasura attain by stealing the Vedas and hurling abuses at God?
