Bhagya Süktam with meaning 1. प्रातरङ्गि प्रातरिन्द्रयूँ हवामहे प्रातर्मित्रावरुणा प्रातरचिनों। प्रातर्भं पूषणं ब्रह्मणस्पर्ति प्रातस्सोम॑मुत रुद्रं हुक्म ।। १ ।। Prataragnim pratarindragm havämahe prätarmirrävarung prataraśvină. Prätarbhagm püsanam brahmanaspati prätassomamuta rudragim huvema.In the auspicious moments of the dawn, we invoke the gods-Agni, Indra, Varuņa, Mitra, Aśvin twins, Bhaga, Pushan, Brahmanaspati, Soma and Rudra. 2.प्रातर्जितं भर्गमुग्रं हुवेम वयं पुत्र-मर्दितर्यो विधर्ता । आश्विद्यं मन्येमानस्तुरश्चिद्राजा॑ वि॒द्यं भर्गं भुक्षीत्याह॑ ॥२॥Pratar jitam bhagamugragm huvema vayam putra-maditeryo vidhartă. Addhraścidyam manyamanas turaści-drājā cidyam bhagam bhaksittyähaWe invoke God, Who is our brilliant protector and saviour, like the Sun that dispels darkness at wn. God is the sustainer of matter. Each man, be He poor or rich, be He a king or a pauper, while worshipping Him, prays thus, ‘May I get renown and riches’. 3.भग प्रर्णैत-भंग सत्य॑राधो भगेमां धियमुद॑व॒दद॑नः । भगप्रणो जनय गोभि-रश्वैर्भगप्रनृर्भि-र्नृवन्त॑स्स्याम ।। ३ ।।Bhaga pranetar bhaga satyarādho bhagemäm dhiyamuda vadadannah. Bhagaprano janaya gobhiraśvair bhaga pranrbhir nrvantassyämaO God, our guide, O God, whose gifts are bountiful, O God, who grants steady intellect, lead us on the path of prosperity. O God, augment our store of kine and horses. O God, may we be rich in men and heroes. 4.उतेदार्नी भर्गवन्तस्याोत प्रपित्व उत मध्ये अह्वाँम् । उतोर्दिता मघव॒न्सूर्यस्य व॒यं दे॒वनां सुम॒तौ स्या॑म ।। ४ ।।Utedanith bhagavantasyäm ota praparva uta madhye ahnam. Utodită maghavanthsüryasya vayam devanägm sumatau syama.So may felicity be mine at present, at sunset, and at moontide. May we still O Bounteous God, be happy at sunrise in the protecting favour of the learned. 5.भगे एवं भगंबा अस्तु देवास्तेने वयं भर्गवन्तस्स्याम। त्यो भग सर्व इज्जौहवीमि सनों भग पुर एता भवेह ॥ ५ ॥Bhagava bhagavägm astu devas tena vayam Pohanganantassyama, Tam tā bhaga sarva ijjohavimi sano bhaga pura eta bhavcha.May almighty God be verily the bestower of bliss, and through Him, may we attain happiness. As such with all my might I pray to You. As such be our leader here, O God! 6.सर्मध्वरायोषसोऽनमन्त दधिक्रार्वेव शुचये पदार्य । अर्वाचीन व॑सुविदं भग॑तो॒ रव॑मि॒वाश्वा॑वा॒जिन आव॑हन्तु ।। ६ ।।Samadhvarayosaso namanta dadhikräveva sucaye padaya Arvacinam vasuvidam bhaganno rathamivāśvā vājina avahantuThe dawns bless our auspicious sacrifice, just as a yogi resolves to visualise God. Just as swift steeds take a chariot afar, so may wise judgements, equipped with my yogic powers, take the soul devoted to God, directly to the almighty father, the Afforder of refuge 8.अश्वविती-गोंर्मती-र्नउषासों वीरर्वतीस्सर्द-मुच्छन्तु भद्राः । घृतं दुहांना विश्वतः प्रर्षीनायूर्य पति स्व॒स्तिम॒स्सदा॑ नः ॥ ७ ॥Aśvávatir gomatirna uşăso viravatissadamucchantu bhadräh Ghrtam duhänä viśvatab prapina yüyam päta svastibhissada nah.O wise judgements, brilliant like the dawn. equipped with the soul-force, the force of organs, and the force of breaths, affording joy enlighten my heart, strengthening the soul. Protect us forever with Your blessings, granting us abundance (of wealth). 9.यो माँऽग्ने भागिनं स॒न्त-मर्थाभागं चिर्कीऋषति । अभागम॑ग्ने तं कुरु माम॑ग्ने भागिनं कुरु ।। ८ ।।Yo mã gne bhāginagım santam athābhāgam cikīrşati. Abhagamagne tam kuru mämagne bhäginam kuru.Being desirous of bountiful and complete prosperity we pour our offerings into the fire. We pray that You accept our offerings from the fire and bless us.
