Kedarnath Temple

History:

The Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, has a rich history deeply intertwined with Hindu mythology and the epic Mahabharata. It's believed to have been originally built by the Pandavas as a penance for killing their kin in the war. The current structure, a classic example of North Indian temple architecture, was later re-established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century.
